Hello,I'm new to the forum. I've searched the archives and can't find help for my starting problem. My 1993 B2200i has about 109k miles and runs well, but requires full pedal to the floor to start. This is regardless of temperature. The Hayes manual just says to take it to a pro for injection problems. Well, thanks a lot! Any one have a lead to point me in the right direction. I don't think this is right for FI engines.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

usually when the gas is fully depressed this cuts power to the injectors when trying to start...maybe a flooding issue? (yes...even on injected vehicles.) Coolant temp sensor may be faulty causeing the computer to tell the injectors to dump fuel. This is one possability

Wring out the coolant temp sensor, air charge temp sensor, and the thottle position sensor and see if they are within spec. If the TPS was that screwed up, I think you'd have other drivability problems; but who knows.

Any other symptoms? Check for codes? Recent maintanence or repairs? Did this start suddenly or develop over time?

Thanks for the input. I'll check into these items.
I've had the truck about 6 months and a couple thousand miles. When I first got it the problem showed up about half of the time. Now it only starts with full pedal. Doesn't seem to blow black smoke when it fires up or take all that much cranking. Maybe I'm making more out of this than it deserves. I don't have a clear idea what was done before I bought it, but it does show external signs of the head being worked on (fresh paint and some sealant ooze that doesn't look factory). It all looks professionally done. Gas usage seems a bit high (a couple of miles less than the carburated '91 I owned previously). No other symptoms, runs very well, I've only timed it and replaced the plugs, neither of which helped the start issue. The plugs were worn but showed no sign of rich running.
I'll keep at it...
Thanks again.

Could be dirty injectors or a weak fuel pump.I would pour a whole can of seafoam in your fuel run it low 1/4 tank then add for true benefit. Not super know how on the injected model but start simple.Granted the truck runs so pump is working, but I would lean more to a injector problem gummed up being the age of it,and who knows if those were ever flushed.Just a thought

If you have an airbox on the truck that is failing, the contact between the potentiometer and brush may be faulty. The ECU won't be able to discern exactly what feed voltage is. You can check the operation of the electrical signal within the box itself with a multimeter. Generally, if the signal is missing, the fuel pump won't work, so you won't get fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
