hi guys, ive got a 1983 model mazda b2000, the engine is shagged, needs new rings however my brother has just gone to pickup a mazda b2200 with a good engine i was wondering and hoping, will the b2200 engine mount to the b2000 gearbox or will i have to swap the box too? any help would be great and thanks in advance.

83 should be the F/MA
The 2200 should be the f2
If the 83 is actually a fe then yup, you'll be sweet.
I think the bellhousing pattern etc are different from the f/ma to the fe (and variants) though.

I'm sure you'll have confirmation in minutes, something bless Mazdabscene.

i had a look at it last night and the whole confiruration is backwards intake and exhaust are on opposite sides compared to mine which sucks cause theres ganna be a lot of work however it should be worth it

It'd be worth more to stick something decent in there instead!?!

yea u may have to swap bell housings if theyre even swapable. ive never even seen under the hood of any bs older than 86 other than pix so i got no idea. just throwing in some thoughts. you might could fab up some motor mounts and run the b22 motor and trani on the b2000. of cours you would have to fab up your cross members to fit along with making sure the drive shaft is the right length. lotta work but ive seen honda motors in these things along with 350s and shit so im sure with the right know how, it could be done.
