Please Help

Hi,I have a 1990 B2200 2.2 5spd carburetor I replaced the lifters and now I have a bad oil leak coming from the rear of the camshaft can someone tell me what would cause that ?

Sounds like a leak from the rear cam plug possibly.

If I understand this correctly, you had the camshaft holders out and the camshaft, so I suspect the rear camshaft seal, circular rubberized disc. Did you install a new one, use a light film of Permatex, and torque correctly? Have good photos?

Your leak is not from the valve cover put on crooked, is it?

I took the rocker arm assembly out and put new lifters in this is my first time doing this the haynes manual didn't say anything about a plug i didn't know there was 1 lol and i cant see the back of the cam shaft i'm going to get a lil mirror so i can see Casser ur help is appreciated. It's not leaking from the valve cover i put my fingers behind there and it fees like it was leaking from the cam shaft

Thanks i guess i'm gonna have to take it apart again. Does the cap go over the back of the camshaft?

You only have pull the valve cover, and loosen the rocker caps. Then the seal can be maneuvered in.
Don't forget to use sealant!

I took it apart again put a new camshaft seal on it put the sealant on put it back together start it and it still leaking oil from the canshaft i'm about to junk it idk if i even put the seal on right i'm getting frustrated the book doesn't tell how to put the seal on

Ya' sure it's not leaking oil from the base of the mechanical fuel pump, only a few inches away, on passenger side of the cylinder head?

Yea i can see it spraying from the camshaft when it is running i ran my finger around it and put a mirror back there it's all over the camshaft and the camshaft seal

Do u have a pic of the back of the camshaft installed on the head with the rockers installed?
