I pick this '87 b2200 up a week or so ago b/c the guy who had it didn't want to replace the clutch. He didn't know how to replace it and mechanics were to pricey. I bought the truck and the clutch was slipping really bad so I took it strait home b/c it was slipping really bad. While I was on the way the clutch pedal would stick to the floor and the truck would try to go or stall. I had a '86 b2000 that did the same thing and after I replaced the clutch it was gone. So I start looking it over and like the guy told me he replaced the slave and the master hoping that would fix the problem and they weren't even dirty yet so I knew it was recently done. I pulled the tranny and put the new clutch in and also replaced the flywheel as it was only $55 bucks. The clutch feels just like it should and doesn't slip. The damn pedal wants to stick if I keep my foot on the pedal for more than 3 seconds. I am wondering if any has had this issue before and if maybe its a bad slave, b/c I cleaned everything, lubed everything and check everything that needed to be checked. I hope somebody has some insight on these slaves. I also need info on solid lifters b/c I can't drive the first 15 mins sounded like I have a baseball card in my spokes. My other b didn't tick after the first minute. I know it a common prob with these trucks but I am thinking of getting a high volume oil pump to see if that helps. After it finishes ticking it sounds like a brand new truck but I can't deal with it like this. Sorry to be long but I have been doing the fox body and m/c for the last ten years and need some mini truckin advice to get me back in the groove.

When my clutch pedal stayed at the floor, I replaced both the clutch master and clutch slave at the same time to fix it. 88 B2200

Bleed the air out of the master and the slave.

mine did it, I got a new master, still did it, got a new slave, fixed it. for about 2 months. then it did it again, had to replace again under warranty, but this only happens when theres air in there. bleed it. I gravity bled mine, just opened the valve and lid and let it sit till I started seeing fluid drip. some do the pump release method, but I had no luck for whatever reason unless I was bleeding breaks. that's where your problem lies, garentee it.

I just found the small rubber hose on the firewall was leaking so replaced it and bled the whole thing out of the truck and seems to be ok.

Sounds like a fix to me. Good job.
