so i want to put my 2.0 head on my 2.2 block. Do i get the 2.0 head gasket or 2.2 gasket? i tried puttin the 2.2 gasket on and i eneded up with antifreeze in each cylinder what could cause this? it was also comin out my exaust pipe..

Flawed or cheap gasket? Wrong torque sequence/improper torque specs? Cracked head?
Is the head properly mounted with the dowels?

The 2.0 head and the 2.2 head are the same, so use the gasket for the 2.2 block!

my head had only one dowel, i torqued it wrong the first time and right the second time.. i guess the head was major warped.. so i am havin it milled

Just curious, if the 2.0 a 2.2 heads are the same why switch them, unless it's just ones already a busted head or etc, but for just a pure performance or power booster is their any type of gain?

The B2000 uses mechanical lifters, but that stuff can be fitted into a b2200 head.

Ahh, okay i thought from the sound of the motor it was mechanical, it has a small not sigifigant but chatter at ide nothing that's like omfg i messed something up, it goes away once you reach a certain rpm an never hear it while driving around. just on startup or long idle period. but also i think it's a new head system, or atleast a timing chain but new blue colored sealent a gunk or whatever not sure, but runs along the head lines and timing chain area. i haven't removed the valve cover ( will shortly to clean and primp it lmao. or replace with a magnum emblem if can find one. but if it's not a new head i will probably replace it with a 2.0 and see how i like the feel of that head vs the stock 2.2

I put a 2.0 head on my 2.2 and actually, having a smaller displacement head did give me a little more compression and power. not much to brag about but I noticed a little difference. the 2.2 lifters arnt mechanical and the 2.0 are, so with the entire head swap I got the mechanical lifters. I had to swap distributor housings cause they are a little different but that's easy.

Ahhh okay thanks for the clarification, next time my head needs replaced i think i'll do the swap an a lil bit extra lol. And I meant Hydraulic lifters not mechnical sorry. in the earlier post.

So you used the 2.2 distributor housing? I am guessing the block deck height dictates the housing / front plate to use?

I see they are marked 2.2 on them so I am guessing that since the head castings are the same, the difference is in the block so the plate must match?

Or can you elaborate on the difference?
