Anyone know what the wires are running to the manual transmission? Looks like there's four. I'm looking at a diagram, but I don't see them right off hand. I'm guessing at least one or one set is a neutral switch for starting?

Your 1987 B2000 manual transmission does not have a neutral switch on the transmission for starting circuit (but may have such switch on the clutch pedal shaft).

Your 1987 B2000 manual transmission does have wires for the reverse lights though.

Well they may be a little different from the b2200 idk for sure, but i know the 2200 has something that forces you to push the clutch down to even have the motor turnover.

Crap, I need to change my signature. I should clarify. This is for my B2200. I putting the 2.0L in it from the B2000.

I don't know if that makes a difference.

In looking at the wiring diagram, there is a neutral switch on the rear right/passenger side, and an "inhibitor switch" on the front right/passenger side.

What's an inhibitor switch?

IIRC, the 2 pairs of wires for the transmission are #2 reverse lights and #1 neutral safety switch.

EDIT: wrong order on links

Yes, you are correct emjay. Looked through the wiring diagram (the 1991 that has been passed around here). The inhibitor switch, from my research, is only for the automatic. (The auto version of a park/neutral safety switch.)
