Hey guys, I was out being irresponsible with my 92 B2200(lol) and was revving her pretty high, and a few minutes later I start hearing a light tapping from the motor. I must have broken or knocked something loose. Do any of you guys know what?

Well these motors are notorious for valve tick. Being that yours is a b22 it doesnt have adjustable lifters so you may just have to deal with it. It's just one of those things. I wouldn't recommend over revving your motor. Although I've been guilty of it a few times, lol.

ADTR is an awesome band btw

Thank you much for the response. So I'm guessing it's not a big deal as long as I don't over rev it too much? And hell yea bro, ADTR ftw, got Common Courtesy a few days ago.

Nice I've been looking towards getting that album. How many miles does your truck have? And do you know any history on the engine? ie has it ever been rebuilt? If so when. Stuff like that. I know how you feel though I hate little noises and such, it took me quite a while to get used to my tick.

I have owned my 87b22 for 26yrs and it has always did this on cold starts or sitting for periods of time.I normally use just 10w30 conventional oil not synthetic and do not use any oil stabilizers or other goo to thicken the oil.I just let it idle high on cold then idle down and drive the tick will go away.I have found the mobil one oil filters do help reduce the time of the tick over say fram or other brands. The mobil one cost is like 13.00 over the fram at under 5.I run Valvoline or super tech (walmart brand oil) and both work good for my truck.Tired and hope this helps.

Well, mine only started ticking after I started revving it around redline in first and second gear. I think I did it too high for too long xD My friend and I take our trucks out to some nearby dirt roads and slide around a bit, and that's usually no problem. I thought I may have broken something when I heard the "tick" a minute after. We were getting real stupid that night trying to see who was louder LMAO Also, I haven't done an oil change yet, but I did recently add some since it was getting low. I don't remember the weight, it may have been just what you said, 10w30. I bought the Pennzoil High Mileage one. I think it was around $9.00 or less.
