ok so in the mornings when it's cold, ill tap the gas a couple times before i start so the choke will reset, but lately it hasnt been closing all the way. it'll close more than it was but not enough to get the engine revving up to warming up speed. usually it'll be around or less than 2k to warm up, then ill tap the gas again and it'll die down to 1k. but lately it seems like when i try to start, it starts with the choke open too much and it starts at 800. doesn anyone know what i would need to replace?

i have a 91 b2200 5speed btw. stock carb

Use some carb cleaner (aerosol can) to clean the linkage & pivot point of the choke flap inside the throat of the carb.........it is probably just gummed up a bit and therefore not able to close the full amount.
