Has anyone used any of the engine rebuild kits that online retailers sell? RockAuto.com sell some? Autopartswarehouse also has a kit by DNJ. Just looking for some feedback while I decide the route I want to go.

The current B I have I purchased with a hole in the block the guy threw a rod. I picked it up cheap. I picked up a used engine on Craigslist. It ran good at first then started to smoke. I though it was a head gasket. I started to take it apart for head gasket and found oil in two of the exhaust ports, leads me to believe its the rings. I was surprised because the smoke looked more white than blue.

Edited to remove rock auto in title.

If anyone has used an engine rebuild kit, which one did you use and would you recommend?

I'm planning on the dnj kit from rock auto as well. Seems to be a well put together kit

I ended up getting a kit put together by the local machine shop that rebuilt the head and cleaned/tested/measured block. Most parts were ITM. Rings were Hastings. Bearings by Clevite. I got a re-ground crank as well. I re-used my pistons.
