I have a 1988 b2200, i was wondering if I could remove the seconary air hose assembly and the truck run ok. I think thats is what is called, its the three tubes in front of the breather and run to the manifold.
Those seem to be called the PAIR tubes, and those with Weber aftermarket carburetors typically remove them, and use lug nuts 14mm x 1.5mm to cap off the four threaded outlets on the driver side. Like I've done.
I cut them off below the manifold pinched the ends and welded them shut but as cusser said you will have to upgrade ur carb to a weber or Holley ( rarely used) in order to remove them
I removed them off my 86 B2000, used brass caps to cap off the manifold so it doesn't look so half done and I'm running the stock carb. I also removed the ECU and all associated BS. I had to tune the carb but that's to be expected.
