need a new head in v.a.

been to hell and back with my truck since I was on here last. I need a new head out here in va. anyone know the best place online to get one? or does anyone in Virginia have a good head they can get rid of?

I'm guessing you're talking pre-assembled and machined? I've got a head, but it's pulled partially apart and may need machining. I'll part with it on the cheap, just cover shipping basically.

no I haven't gotten one. I do have a set of mechanical lifters I plan on using. I just need a head that I know isn't cracked or warped. im kinda tryin to get a new one or a reman maybe. but idk where to look. hoping someone close would have one. or know of a good place to look. cause its $489 bux at advance. and that's the cheapest ive seen.

The head Merciless has is your best bet unless you go to a junk yard and pull one yourself in which he is trying to give you one and you only pay shipping. I mean your looking at 225 tops at a machine shop to have a basically brand new head after being shaved, valve job, and garanteed for a year or so. Plus if you get a shop with a good machine. Your truck will thank you well over stock since most companies buy valve grinders that put multi angle groves on everything plus shaving raises the compression.

Well, I do have one that was rebuilt recently - I pulled it only because I built another new motor and got a brand new head casting.

The head has no issues at all.
