Hello, I've been contemplating what direction to take with my guages...

I currently have a '90 B2200 with a single speedometer guage cluster. I would like to know from anyone who has swapped to the factory dual speedometer & rpm guage cluster, on how easy of a conversion this was or any issues to consider if doing this swap.

Thanks.

All the information on this swap you will need:

And if you plan on swapping in a 347 stroker... there's a tachometer mod available too.

edit: just saw your swap thread... DOH!

Thank guys... and yeah it will be on the 347. I've been thinking about it and I like the functionality of having the factory guage cluster all fully operational, especially if I can have the tac in there as well... that way all I need is a few extra guages, and can just modify me a pillar guage pod if I can't find one..

Good looking out!

CRX gauge pod:

Fiberglassed, one extended because it was longer:

It's pretty easy to do, I had to go overboard because my EGT gauge was quite a bit longer than the other gauges I was using. You can also see where I put them under the vent. Others have used just the plastic one and molded it with a heat gun, I was not as successful.

I swapped a small block Chevy into mine. It was killing me seeing my tach just sitting dead in the dash, taking up space, so I found a way to make it work. I wrote this one up myself, so don't be afraid to ask any questions you might have.

Wow... Thanks!!! This gets better and better. So I don't even need to do any wiring modifications (unless I want the clock to work), and then Its as simple as a circuit board swap to get the proper tac signal for the V8... !

The hardest part will be finding me a decent tac gauge cluster for the Mazda, and a removing the cluster from the Bird...

NICE... Thanks!

Glad to help.
