91 b2200 transmission/driveshaft problems?

when i first start driving the truck accelerates fine through the entire rpm band in 1st and 2nd gear. but starts to bog out in 3rd 4th and 5th gear above 2700ish rpm and eventually just dies and i lose control over the gas pedal. (i press it and the rpms still drop) then it consistantly jerks and jolts and dies until i let it cool down again. it will NOT go abnove 45-50 mph or it just stops as though there is a governor set at that speed. i have literally no idea as to what it could be.

i just got new spark plugs and wires, did an oil change today, and it seems to have a missfire. i really dont know if its at all fixable but any help would be appreciated.

i am getting ready to check the transmission fluid and see if its is just really low or something.

its a manual 91 b2200 carburated 2.2 by the way.

so if you stay in 2nd gear what happens?

Check the fuel filter and fuel delivery.

Check that there isn't a vacuum in the gas tank vent (like burp open the fuel cap, then run your test).
