After replacing every ignition component to finally get spark, and a new weber and fuel pump. I still cannot get the truck to run... it sounds like it wants to start, but the more I crank it and give it gas the worse it gets... my fuel pressure regulator is set to 3.5 psi.but I'm not exactly sure how to tune tbe carb. I'm sure I've fouled out the new plugs by now, so I need to replace those again, but i still dont know why it wont run with fuel and spark...

But is it getting speak at the right time? Did you remove your distributor when you did this? Because maybe the distributor body is near-correct orientation but the shaft/rotor were the wrong orientation.

Not like on old VWs where if the distributor rotor/shaft could only go in one way.

We did pull the dizzy once just to make sure that the gear wasnt broken on the bottom, but I marked it beforehand and put it back where it was... all my timing marks line up and the rotor is at 9o'clock like it should be...

Compression check?

Things I'd try if my own truck:

crank without touching the gas pedal

hold down pedal all the way and crank

I assume that you are using a spark checker or holding a spark wire near ground or spark plug touching engine block to confirm spark.

Compression good across all 4 cylinders... when cranking without holding pedal is whn it sounds the best, holding pedal seems to choke it out... second person has verified plugs are sparking... I'm going to replace my fuel pressure regulator and newnplugs since I'm sure I've fouled them out, and try to research how to adjust the weber, being that its right out of the box... it sounds close when I first hit the key the more I crank the worse it gets... its close, and got to be something stupid... I think I just need another pair of fresh eyes on it...

TDC on #1 = TDC on #4, Maybe you are 180 out on your distributor. You can test this by swapping 1&4 wire pin for pin, and 2&3 wire pin for pin for testing purposes..

phased incorrectly

I went thru and double checked everything. Since there is a new weber on the truck I re-installed the fuel pressure regulator. I rechanged the fuel filter. Double checked timing, plugs, and wires. I turned the key, pumped the gas couple times, and the truck ran!!! Granted it sounded horrible, like it was on 2 cylinders, but my foot was off the clutch and gas and it was idling rough as hell but on its own!!! So I'm close, should just need a little fine tuning I hope. The timing I don't think is perfect and the Weber hasn't been adjusted at all. But it ran! So I'm kind of excited about that. I also got all the dents fixed... also, when I replaced the ignition switch I broke my headlight switch so now when I hook the battery up the lights are always on. But I know rockauto has one. But I just wanna get it running right first! Anyways, that's my update... ran but rough and hopefully just needs a good once over. Thanks to everyone for all yalls help.

Yes, it can run on 2 cyl even if it's way out whack.

Put the motor at TDC #1 (real easy) then pull the distributor and line up the mark on the end of the distributor housing to the "dot" on the gear (not the pin) and carefully put it in.

Once it's in, verify your rotor is centered on where they #1 cylinder terminal is on the cap.

It should at least fire up and run on all 4 without too much (or any) carb adjustment.

The distributor shaft turns clockwise, so maybe #2 & #3 are still reversed.
