So i replaced my headgasket and reused the manifold to 1st cat gasket... now that it has failed and I'm leaking exhaust everywhere, regreting that now

So I've been going to auto parts stores and everyone says they can't get it and its a dealer direct part.. How can this be true?

Picutes, part numbers, help, advice, anything, I would appreciate it, I'm getting tired of driving around with the windows down

thanks!

Maybe use copper RTV?

It is quite likely that it is a dealer only part.

Pre-converter gasket (top of front converter) - FEL-PRO Part number is 60534 (Special order Autozone $2.99 or O

Angus I went to autozone and bought it when I read that, because I was tired of looking for it and figured why not. I was going to wait until tomorrow to do it and I'm glad I waited to see that number! I called autozone they ordered it in and it was the right one

And Cusser I think that exactly it, I took my head off with the manifold and forgot to put the manifold on the head before I put it on the block, someone had used something like a header collector gasket and I assume thats why it failed. But I had to unbolt the exhaust from the mount on the trans and pull it back, which is what i should have done in the first place....

Now you have it right.

Yep, got it apart and back together in about an hour, I'm very satisfied

Agree, FelPro should include that in the HG kit, I was pissed too. On the other hand, I had re-used the original gasket when I earlier had gutted that cat, so I was due for a new one, didn't have the link/part number then.
