quick easy question for you guys

I need to know how to do the valve cover gasket on my 2.2l it came with a little rubber ring for each bolt. what do i do with them? do they go on top of the cover or in between the head and cover?

The rubber rings go between the bolt and the valve cover on the outside. When you take the old cover off you should see metal washers that need to go under the bolt heads and over each rubber grommet.

After looking at it more carefuly I figured that was the only way it could go. I used a small amount of black rtv on both sides of the ruber felpro gasket. I hope that isn't a fopah but I wanted to do everything I can becaulse I just painted everything and it looks great. I'll be putting pics up tonight after the finishing touches.

Yep. Don't overtighten.

I torqued to the specs in my Haynes book and it's not leaking.
