Pacesetter question? Not bolting up right!

I got old paint off headers, painted with high heat paint. Now I'm trying to put headers in iv got the header on the block but the piece that attaches to the old existing exhaust won't match up to it correctly when slid on the header. It's like the bottom of the flange will touch but the top almost has a 3/4 inch space.

Has anyone else had this problem??

I'm trying right now, but also the only way I can get the two flanges remotely close is to pry up very hard on the back exhaust

I hope this works if you notice the headers flange is above the other so when I push the rear exhaust pipes up naturally the bottoms touch but their is a gap on top I'm not sure if I can pull the two together with but and bolt or if I should try modifying

New header or used?

New, I just decided to cut about a foot behind the flange on the pipes, I'll run a straight piece to make it work tomorrow. Right now it sounds like a tractor with the header and the pipe dump right under the drivers seat

Why wouldn't you just bend the header down? Pacesetters are notorious for not fitting right, I can't count how many times I've had to "massage" them.

I'm going to make new 2 inch exhaust at work. I'm a commercial electrician and have made a couple exhausts for my coworkers on the bending table at work
