loose valve cover bolts and poor performance.

I went to clean the stock carb here and discovered 5 of 7 valve cover bolts were vibrated out a few turns can this cause shirty performance??? I can't fathom it but would it affect emissions to the point of running like shit?

The lose bolts probably wont hurt the power but can make you loose oil.

Also be careful when you tighten the valve cover bolts that the ears break very easy, then you have a another problem.

When tightening the valve cover bolts be sure to set the proper torque at 2-3 foot pounds or 26-35 inch-lbs. Then you won't break a tab. Maybe take this opportunity to replace the gasket.
