Recap:
Vehicle was diagnosed by a Mazda Dealer & Independent Repair Shop. Both places said the Cylinder Head needed to be replaced due to bad lifters??? Cracked valve seats???
*** A ClearWater Cylinder Head was installed.
Vehicle still has poor performance from about idle up to about 2500-3000 RPM's. Goes fairly well down the road, the closer you keep it to 3000 RPM's

Recently, after getting the check engine light off (switched white/white connector for white/black). Installed new fuel filter & GETTING READY to switch out Oxygen Sensor.

*** Today I discovered that upon applying throttle slowly from idle up to about 2100-2200 RPM the RPM increased with throttle (yes, I know it should work this way) & upon reaching that RPM area, as throttle was applied, RPM dropped off, then hesitation / stutter as more throttle was applied. Then it caught itself & jumped to 2500-2600 RPM. I can notice the vehicle appears to go RICH (smell of unburned fuel in the air).

So, Oxygen Sensor IS getting replaced with a NTK/NGK (original / 135,000miles).

Is there a TPS??? Or something similar to a MAF / VAM I should be looking for???

Other ideas?????

Vehicle is Carburetored. No AC & no PS.

Found out I'm going overseas for 2 years for work. Vehicle is For Sale. It's easier to sell something running correctly vs. a vehicle with an issue.
