On the FI 2.6l where is the tps located, and how do I verify it's functioning?

The throttle position sensor is opposite of the throttle body butterfly (where its attached to the throttle cable).... The first thing you would so is check battery to make sure its good... Check your fuses..... Then pull off the connector from TPS sensor and check for voltage...... There are 2 ways to check for normal opperation.... (1) pull of connector and switch your multimeter to ohms... And check resistance of sensor at closed throttle.... And as you slowly open the throttle, resistance will either increase or decrease... Most TPS sensor decrease resistance as the throttle opens.... If resistance does not change you have a bad TPS sensor.... *continued*

*continued* (2) leave connector plugged in, back probe the TPS sensor connector.. Check for voltage... At closed throttle the voltage would be around .5-1v...and when you open the throttle the voltage should increase to 4.5-5v......if no changes occur you have a bad sensor

It is possible that the tps sensor could have a glitch... To test for a glitch, you should test with an ossciliscope-(bad spelling).. But at that point.. It would be cheaper to replace part that buying a scope... Good luck

thanks for the help, found the problem--plug I installed where airbox used to be had come loose. Changed to different plug method and it's all good now.
