I think the only way to go is drag your frame. Don't do 100mph on the highway and bury it and OMG MY FRAME IS SO SCREWED.

No drag and replate it, its not hard.

one thing i did was took the spring purch i cut off for the 4-link welded it up somewhere else and put my old leaf spring in it after i had cut it in half, welded a short chain to it, welded 10lb on it, it bearly hung lower then the body and would slide over bumps and cracks....that way i could still lay it out with out haveing to take my drag balls or plates or blocks off at a show.....a hinged drag plate

Think about it man. if money is tight, then you probably shouldnt be dragging it anyways. Besides if your doing some ghetto ish like that i doubt youll be able to fix someone elses car when the balls snap off and take out their radiator. God forbid what if you take the driver out. can you say LAWSUIT?

Look, im all for draggin, but if your gonna build it, spend the money and build it the right way. itll last a lot longer.

when i have access to a welder, and the time to move gas lines and safely weld, i plan on adding some 3/8 plate under the frame to beef it up, and yes a drag bar in the rear, sturdy box tubing, and gussets so it doesnt move. until then, im making use of my "cheater" options because i dont want to see what happens if the front crossmember is dragged anymore, or poorly used leaf spring mounts to hold the rear end in place... my frame is not my lowest point from any angle.

whoever had this truck before me dragged the shit out of the front crossmember, dragged thru the sway bars attached to the control arms, etc. Ive already had to fix enough non-cheater dragging damage.
dragging the frame is fine if the lowest point is flat frame, but until i get the front end z'd, i do not feel like removing any more of the crossmember that holds my front suspension together! if lower control arms come off the vehicle on the highway, you have alot more than a windshield to worry about!

If you have to use this type of setup, or make a drag bar you don't need to be dragging period. I don't care if your shit is doored.

If you make something like this and build a drag bar and your truck is bodied or framed, you just don't need to be doing it. Whats the point in putting your truck that low, and yet you want to drag it. But would rather risk some sketchy setup?

Everyone has their own way of dragging. I choose drag bars vs dragging my frame. I have never lost or broke these off my frame. Here is some pictures:

wow....draggin balls....had hope this died off but guess not....ive seen the damage these do FIRST HAND when a ball comes off.....and the damage and injuries caused are devastating.

i like to drag once i while but not at the risk of peoples lives.

its people that go out and do stuff that they KNOW is unsafe that causes so many issues for minitruckers......

PLEASE PEOPLE DONT DRAG TRAILER BALLS........
