Ok My 4x4 sheet metal showed up last night. Now I want to know how much of a body drop I can do before the bed around the wheels drags. I really want to do a 3" drop. Hey just on a side note I can rent a plasma cutter from a local rental company.

what do you want to lay? pinch, rocker, door.. this will tell how much the drop would need to be.

3in bd would lay rocker nice and is about average for a bd on a mazda to lay rockers.

Thats great as I was looking at the rockers 2day I noticed they r pretty beat up. I want to cut the pinch weld off as this should let me pull and fix most of the damage to the rockers I noticed.

Next ? is about the bed. When u raise the floor do u reuse the stock floor braces that go across frame? What about the braces to the bed sides. Do these get extended. Any help would be great.

4x4 sheetmetal wont change how much you can bodydrop your truck. The beds are the same except for the 3-4 inches around the wheel opening. You can do a 3" bodydrop as long as you have high offset wheels. Either that or narrow your rear end.

And if you wanna go past the pinch and lay your rockers, you don't wanna cut the pinch weld off. You just bend it up under the truck and tuck it away. I def wouldn't recommend cutting it off. Mazda bodys are like 24 gauge. Pretty hard to reweld all that back together if you cut the pinch off.

Well I had to cut the pinch off to straighten the rockers out. Beat to pieces like it had been driven down a gravel road with no air in it. I am going to weld something over it.
