it doesnt look like my stock ac comp lines up with rest of the pulleys, therefore it doesnt have a belt attached. its just there.
so im thinking one of two things.

**find a way to line the pulleys back up(unless they are supposed to be like that-theres no belts to it and this is the first mazda ive owned so im not sure) and just keep the ac comp there and run a secondary pump as a edc and still have ac in the truck?

**or yank my ac lines and converting the compressor to an engine driven unit if i can get it lined up.

who could help with hints on how to accomplish this with out destroying everything.

i get to thank the guy i got this truck from because he admited he had no idea what he was doing, so theres unhooked lines and missaligned stuff all over this damn truck.

Can you post some good photos of what your set-up looks like? And tell us ifyour 1987 is a B2000 or a B2200.

I know the B2200 (likely the B2000 also) uses three belts, a separate one for the AC compressor. There's no idler pulley for the AC belt, the compressor just rotates farther away to tighten the belt and is locked in there to keep it tighten. There should be three grooves on your crankshaft pulley, if yours is the correct pulley, like one groove for the AC belt.

Are you sure that yours ahs the correct compressor? There should be a Sanden number, like SD 708 followed by a dash and four more numbers, post those if you can read them.

or Sanden - SD 508 and if your interrested in using it to pump air there is a tech write up on how to convert it over to pump air on here in forums under tech write ups.

o yea sorry. its an 87 b2k
thanks for the replys. after i posted this i actually went out and looked at it. i did notice that there needs to be a separate belt running the ac.

i will post pics tomorrow when its day light.

maybe im use to domestics, but i also didnt notice too much stuff running off of it. one or two wires and 2 hoses that ran towards the radiator. this is the one bad thing about jumping into an import that im not used to. everything looks diff
