I need some expererienced help as Im a rookie when it comes to mods.. I want to put a lift on my truck an found a thing fer fairly cheap.
Its a block kinda thing that you put under yer leaf springs to lift er on top of them to lower.. Iv seen another type of lift kit but I cant really afford it right now.
Should I jus use the block type lift or wait till I can afford the other one?

What are the two options you are looking at? Got pics?

Can you take pics of your current suspension set up? You can probably just do flip kit and crank the torsion bars.

The "block type kit" you speak of only affects the back not the front. If you use it in stock form it will lower the rear of the truck the thickness of the block. If you welded new spring perches on and flipped the axle to beneath the leaf springs you would get 4-5" of lift from that alone. You would still need to address the front.

The easiest way to get a little lift is leave the rear alone, crank the bars in the front to get it to level, then add a body lift.

Leaf spring shackles can be used to lift the rear as well, and are much easier and don't require welding. It is also a perfect time to replace worn out leaf spring bushings.

But also drastically alter the pinion angle, so you must be sure to check and shim that. Remember, for every inch of lift you need 2" longer shackles, and simply adding longer shackles without moving the shackle hanger changes the shackle angle which alters handling characteristics and load capacity.
