can anyone help me

So I'm close to rebuilding my Mazda and before I start with the rear I was wondering if any one has shaved the breather on the rear differential I want to put the upper 4 link bars more on top of the pumpkin but the breather on the rear end is in the way so is it ok to weld it closed please help

It should have a breather somewhere, otherwise it will pressure up when it gets driven, and start leaking out of all of the seals. I just changed my diff gears today, and there is a baffle inside under the breather pipe to stop oil from blowing it out, so if you move it, it may also leak oil. If you move it, I suggest locating it on one of the axle tubes as there is not much oil flowing around in those.
