Ok here it is I'm trying to toss all the emissions crap on my 89' B22 and I've done pretty good at pulling stuff out.... I'm just not sure what to do with whats left.
Due to a sad budget and pressure of time i need to reuse the stock carb but I'm not sure whats what with half of it anyone got some picks to share so i know what a finished emissions removal should look like. i know what needs to bee hooked up i just need help to know where/how.

Well, the stock carb actually has to have most all of that emission stuff to operate without staying in limp mode. The fuel solenoid in the center of it has to have the input from the ECU and the ECU needs it's reading from the O2 sensor......and on and on.
There are too many devices hanging on the passenger fender that alter the signal to the stock carb........it'll run without them, but probably not very good, and the gas mileage will be worse.......it has a default "limp mode" in which the carb's idle gets tuned to a rich condition when something is off on the signals going to it.

Give it a shot though since you have removed it all and see what you get......plug all the open vacuum ports on the carb, and just use one that has vacuum on it for the vacuum advance on the distributor.

Let us know how it goes.

I've been fighting limp mode on my truck for about a month or so. I got sick and tired of it a couple days ago and unplugged the computer. I'm back to a nice idle and decent driving condition. No more surging as I'm coasting down the road in gear. Much nicer. Your results may vary, but so far it has been working for me.

what about the sensor on the manifold between the carb and the distributor do i bypass that? i ca is a whole new beast to me n pull apart and rebuild almost everything between the clutch fan to the rear diff but the carb is a whole new beast. i wish i had a weber its so simple in comparison. on the plus side i have a few days till some gaskets show up to cram in time to tear this site apart for info.

Can you remove all that egr stuff from the stock carb and still runs normal,I can't afford a weber at the moment

well i didnt get much info but i faked it the best i could and got her running again gotta figure out how to tune the carb now i think she is running to rich and she chugs/sputters after starting warm. fixed my fuel pump oil leak, now i dont spot everything i park on.

i really hate feeling stupid but where the hell is the ecu so i can unplug the damn thing i have the truck running so i can get to and from work but i have all these unplugged wires coming off the carb because i dont know what will happen if i plug them in before i find the ecu. i feel like im trying to unstrap a laptop from a lawnmower it just doesnt make sense to me. the only electrical i want running to the engine is what it needs to run(good).

its behind the kick panel on the passenger side below the dash.

ok so computer is gone with the wiring except wipers of course vacuum lines are plugged except brake booster and distributor all extra crap is in the trash. just 3 issues left.
1. when cold the brakes are tough like the vacuum is gone(last only a few seconds then goes away)
2. after trying to start 30 minutes after running up to temp she seems to choke out like there is no gas (might be related to next problem)
3. i have plenty of experience with tuning dirt bikes lawn mowers weed wackers esc. but i do not have a clue on this thing i have high and low idle figured out but thats it.
my last pick of the carb shows a rectangle with 2 holes at the base one has a screw in it what is that for?
