So I just sent my 2.2 crank out to be reground. The main and rod journals were both .005 undersize which is understandable on a truck with 230k on it. But now this brings me to buying engine components when it comes back (so I know what size bearings although it's likely to be .010/.010) I've been poking around on the interwebs looking for kits. I already know I'm goin .040 over bore so that takes some of the kits away right off the bat. I'm also not using any timing belt that comes in these kits. Gates is the only way I'll go and as for the head gasket...felpro. Other than that I'm thinking about using the "engine tech" kits I see on eBay for $274 shipped....anyone used these? Or their components for that matter? I could build this motor with all the same component brands I built my 355 with but it'd cost a lot more and for a daily driver rebuild I don't think it's necessary to be a brand whore on the less important parts when I'm budget building this.
