are the chevy truck threads the same size as the mazdas? i know some of the chevys are m14-1.5 and im pretty sure the mazdas are m12-1.5...is this correct?

lug stud threads?

Chevy went to the 14x1.5 studs when they changed body styles in '88. The Mazda's run 12x1.5 studs.

Two options: 1. Run stock lug nuts with a conical washer but these are hard to find and i don't recommend it (even though I have done it myself with no problems). 2. Run the tapered lug nuts, the bigger the base of the nut the better. Just make sure the lugs have enough surface area where it meets the wheel to ENSURE it won't pull through.

Cheers!

So, is there a 12x1.5 lugnut that will accept the factory Chev wheelcaps?? the kind that thread onto the lugnuts outer threads.

I have 17" Chev truck alloys, 12x1.5 lugnuts on. BUT I don't know how to go about getting the centercaps to fit

The only thing I can think of is S-10 lug nuts, but they are 7/16x20. I think the best route (I know it's not the easiest) would be to drill your hubs, drums etc. for the 14x1.5 studs and use the fullsize GM truck studs, lugs, caps and all. The downside of this is you will never be able to go back to a wheel with the smaller stud holes without drilling those wheels. Kind of a pickle when the center caps are attached by the lug nits.

I know this is an old thread, but i think i have found an answer to the center cap issue with these rims. I just bought some chrome steel 17s and realized that the center caps won't mount up on the truck. So, I went to O'Reillys and did some digging through their Dorman catalog, getting specs for different lug nuts and lug nut covers. I have found a couple of part numbers that I believe will work. I have some on order, and when I get them and mount the rims to the truck, I'll update y'all with a definite answer one way or the other.

Part# 611-150 is the lug nut. M12X1.5 with external threads(m24) for a lug nut cover.

Part# 611-615 is the lug nut cover. M24 threads and the outside diameter is perfect for slipping into the factory chevy lug nut covers.

I'll be adding some superglue or plastic weld to adhere them together. I'll let everyone know if this is a viable solution(fingers crossed), because they don't look good without the center caps.
