There seems to be a lot of discussion about which wheels will tuck and which ones will not. Offset, diameter and width of wheel, and diameter and width of tire all make a difference. That's common sense mathmatics. However, most of us need to have a couple of other key informational pieces in our calculations to allow us to make a very informed decision about wheel (and tire) purchases. So let's start a thread that answers these questions.

The factory offset of the mazda wheels is 40mm. Correct?

The factory fender distance to hub is??? I don't know this one. please pipe in.

Great little tool to see the tires in action is at (Props to 808hawaiian who posted this earlier this year)

The factory Wheel dimentions are - 14" x 5.5", 6-lug 5.5" bolt pattern.

Nowe the will they or won't they tuck hard part.

I assume that at 17x8" wheel with a high offset ( 32mm to 38mm) running 50 series tires will tuck and probably not give too many problems with turning, rubbing, etc.

I can't find anything outside of a duelly wheel that is any narrower

That's the start to the thread. Please add to this info with what you know and please correct me if I'm wrong about the wheel/tire combo listed above. That is what I am thinking about buying, but what I buy has to tuck. I'm going with a 3" static drop in the front annd back with the regular 2wd sheet metal. But regardless of what I'm doling, I would like to see all of this info in one thread. Much easier to find when you go to look.

Goal is to start one thread that helps all of us not screw up wheel and tire purchases.

Thanks for the replies ahead of time.

Bolt Pattern (in):6x5.50
Bolt Pattern (mm):6x139.7
Offset Range (mm): 10-20
Front Center Bore (mm):108
Rear Center Bore (mm): 108
Stud_Size: 12x1.5
Now when I went to the tim shop to get rims for my truck they told me that they would order me a set of wheels for my truck and drill it out just for my truck, that the offse would be a+35 with a 7 and a half with on the wheel and a 108 center bore with 2wd sheet metal, one of the things I've learned and been shown/told keep in under 7 and a half inches wide with the 2wd sheet metal. And if you go to rim shop and you can have them drilled specifically for our truck and you have 2wd sheet metal try to find a front wheel drive wheel if possible. 9-10 front wheel drive wheels will tuck under 2wd sheet metal. You can tuck bigger under 4wd. Basically in my opinion get a high offset wheel. The wheels I was gonna get a 20x7.5 with +35 offset at $1200. Not are if this will help bit good luck!

The hub bore on my '91 2wd is not 108mm. Every online list gets it wrong. IDK about 4wd Bs, perhaps they're 108mm.

Even the Montero rims I run on my B are just under 108mm they measure 107.9mm or so.

Good idea for a thread, hopefully this will help.

I think the internet is good for getting an idea but definitely measure your self.

Rimsntires.com has a great program that will tell you the differences in overall wheel and tire size, if they will tuck etc. When you pull up the main page click on "size comparer" on the left hand side. Hope this helps.

The rimsntires.com site is freakin spectacular. The OEM wheel/tire combo is the package A, then the desired rims/tires are package B. Tells at the bottom what to expect from the difference. Thanks vrtclychlngdb22. Just hope the site is correct. I actually went up a rim size in my thinking and it seems to be a better fit for what I want.
