Every interior piece I could salvage I cleaned thoroughly and removed any thing the ants or roaches could use to nest.

Time to remove all of the old stereo system, alarm and any other dead wires.

It felt like I was winning the battle against the bugs.

As you can see the wiring needed to be cleaned up. When I do the dash swap I'll inspect the harness more, there were a lot of splices.

My friend always said it was the alarm system that was causing the truck not to start and he was partially right.

I finally found the brain box stuffed up in the dash. The alarm had an ignition kill switch and was stuck in the off position.

Once I had the alarm system fully disconnected it turned over on it's own!

This thing was a mess! I've never seen such an infested interior on any vehicle. Looks like you have finally gotten the best of them, it's starting to look like a decent truck.

thats a damn good alarm brand clifford make some of the best and expensive

Thanks lowlyfe, I'm still scared some of the roaches are living in my garage now but so far so good

If you are interested mazdalade I'm not going to do anything with it. If you pay for shipping it's yours.

You get those damn bugs BaHa! For real though that's a crazy infestation! I hope you get 'er runnin soon!
baha   +1y
Thanks fdugn545 she's been pretty reliable so far. After she turned over, I replaced one of the battery connections, batteries and cleaned up all my connections really good. After that she fired right up!

I don't think you can see in the pictures but I guess the ants that collected in the engine bay didn't like the heat to much

I knew the cowl was a place other bugs were living so I decided to clean that next.

This one shows it the best.

Seats not perfect but I needed to get this thing clean
enough to travel to NC to pick up a truck.

thread post photo

Believe it or not I filled this a couple times just vacuuming the cowl.

Cleaned the bottom plastic piece well too. It made a big difference.

It still smells a little musty in the cab but I noticed a huge difference from before.

Well things were going good, I got the inside cleaned out really good, washed all the surfaces. I figured for good measure I would spray bug killer in all of the body crevices before I put the interior panels back in.

Brandon (Bcrunk) gave me a tip for the bugs. This stuff works! Bengal with nylar. The nylar is suppose to make the existing bugs unable to reproduce if they hatch. It has bug repellent in it so it drives the bugs out of hiding before they die.

And the results:

There were a lot left that I couldn't see! This was after not seeing any trace of bugs for a week.

This may help the next guy but these bulbs were the cause of my short that shorted out my parking and gauge lights.

Came back the next day to find even more dead ants.

Got her running good and back together to pick up this truck from Justin (dropped90) in NC. It was about 10hrs there and back with Bcrunk.

A build thread will come much later. I don't want to be that guy with to many projects but to late
