1986 Camaro Iroc Z-28, with the vin reading a 305 h.o with 4 speed transmission. I've been told the engine is built, and I believe it. After doing the trade i hit the highway the area was a 70 zone, hardly any cops sit through the area except on holidays and high traffic times, lucky me, open roads and no sight of cops. I got to play, running at 70 i started easing into it, and boy did that sucker start roaring! Before I even hit the point in the throttle that it'll gear down and really shit n get I'd hit 85-90. Now in mind it has on overdrive ( on the stock panel ) Ya know how trading vehicle goes can't tell exactly what's in it till ya really pull them out and look up numbers. Sorry back to my story lol, well at this point i romped down into the throttle, felt the tranny grab a lower gear and well lets say when I looked at the speedo again ( only registers 90-95 ) have lok make sure. but it was well beyond this point easily into atleast 100-110 mph at that point i let off at half throttle and without the tranny having shifted up again.

I know it doesn't have a posi rear end, but it's got a nice rearend limited slip under it IDk exactly what, but playing in the driveway first power brake was passenger wheel only, took off, drivers side caught and it was gone. Second powerbrake again passenger side wheel, but i let off and gunned it again, it kicked sideways both tires squalling like wildcats. ( NOTE!! I was told it had a 350 Turbo transmission, anyone know anything about these transmissions right off hand pros/cons?)

Now if you're still reading at this point here comes all I HAVE TO DO to get it looking nice, New valve cover and gaskets, new breather, looking at this when buying it, Edelbrock carb? Highly doubt GM slapped Edelbrocks on any car stock, Edelbrock intake, stamped Edelbrock made in us with numbers there. highly doubt that's stock? Lifters need adjusting, was told they where bad, hell not a peck or tick out of them, BUT you can hear a slight rattle, looking into this more over the weekend. BUT it had no issues running the rpm range lol. stock manifolds. odd but whatever lol, into a brand new single piped exhaust with cats into i'm guessing a y-pipe dual rear exhaust. Haven't jacked it up yet to get a look, to big to fit lmao!

Next is the interior, omg it's been molested more than i thought, going to need a complete upper trim set, thankfully the t-tops are in great shape, rained hard other day no leaks anywhere, electric motor on the back hatch works great closing and opening. Power windows work perfect, door locks do not, gauges have no lights on them, a set of sunpro 3 pack temp/volt/oil pressure gauge, Oil pressure gauge works good reads solid oil pressure, volt isn't hooked up factory dash volt works fine, no biggie atm. Temp gauge is connected into the block, but doesn't work, bad connection into the block? Never seen an underdash on these but I know it's missing pieces and there relays and shit hangin down all over the place.but all headlights, reverse lights, tail lights signals work fine. No interior lights as no bulbs in atm. Needs seats, swapping in a 4th gen camaro front/back seats in from a nice 4th gen at a junkyard here. direct swap, don't care for color atm long as they work lol. Carpeting is in great shape, the dash will need some love put into it. But i'm happy as hell and this is one car that i will never sell or get rid of. Wanted an Iroc ever since i was old enough to touch a gas pedal.

The TH350 is a very good transmission, even in its stock form. Adding a quality Street/Strip shift improver kit is among the top improvements I'd do to it. If it hasn't already been done.

Any recommended sites for these? It shifts nice and smooth, again IDK and won't know what's all in it till it gets to a point of me taking it to a shop to see. A friend of mine who worked for GM well over 25 years is coming by at one point to help me run all the block codes and etc.

I have used Superior Performance shift kits in several 700R4 transmissions. I think they have a better product than B&M. I have not used their TH350 shift kits, but they'd be my first choice!

There are a few different limited slip diffs that GM used. Some have the characteristics like the way you thought "Posi" rears performed, while others allowed one wheel to spin for a bit, before they both lit up.
