OK I have a 88 B truck I have been noticing the last couple of days that my clutch pedal gets soft at times but eventually it builds back up. So today I came home and bleed the slave thinking maybe somehow it got some air in it. Well needless to say that did not help (there was no air)
I installed a new clutch master about 2 months ago and everything has been doing great until now. I did notice I can push the slave in very easily by hand (should this be that easy to push in)? There is no leaking at the master or the slave. Anyone have any ideas? Also what is the best way to bleed this system. Once I installed the new master i let it gravity bleed then i bled the slave with the bleeder screw. once all this was done i pushed the slave in a couple times just to make sure that there was not a airpocket in the slave.

I'm not to familiar with your year but yeah it sounds like the slave is bad if you can push it in that easily. How many miles, and is that the original slave to your knowledge?

220,000 miles I changed the slave and the master again last weekend and so far so good. Slave wasnt leaking but when I took it off it all seem to fall apart (spring and all fell out)

Just as a confirmation for any who search this, I had the same issue. (Actually, around the same time as you, just wasn't on the forums yet!)

My clutch became so "weak" that the pedal fell to the floor. After pumping the pedal many times (MANY times), it finally got enough gumption to get home. There were no leaks, no air pockets that I could tell. But as you said, I could easily push my slave in by hand. Also, when I removed it, the pin and spring just fell out.

Magically after replacing the master and slave, everything was better.

I've experienced that same "magic" !!!

I know that part is notorious for failing. I had a friend go through 3 during a car show weekend.

Dan Atkins is selling genuine Mazda cylinders and clutch lines, see his listing.

I've never tried factory ones, just been glad that mine were lifetime guaranteed. At least in the past - they informed me that they no longer stock that brand, so no more replacement ones for me (at least 6 each over a 17-year span). The shop even moved once and changed from Gary's to CarQuest, and I found them.

THE SLAVEEEEEEEEEEE!
Well I reckon, seems like it's a common thing with these trucks (if you have the issue at all )
The fluid leaks past the piston... which is annoying when you're holding it in and it leaks engaging the clutch! lol.
You've changed it so it should be all good
