the bearings on the rear are pressed on i believe. You could probally get em off...but unless you have the right tools im pretty sure they would get destroyed putting the new ones back on.

The rear bearings are pressed on to the axle shaft.Machine shop is really the only place to have this done correctly. You can remove the shafts yourself, remove all the brake components, remove the 4 nuts on the backside of the backplate(brake line side, and you have to disconnect the brake line anyway.Shaft should pull straight out.The bearing is seated on the shaft very tight.A machine shop should be able to do this part, take a new bearing and outer seal bc the outer seal is in front of the bearing, the inner seal is in the axle housing. That YOU can do the seal inside the axle housing(inner seal).I might have the inner seal and outer seal backwards I am just tired and thought I would reply.Either way here is some info.

Thanks for that
what kind of sound should i have when i'm spinning them ?
I have both tires off, and i have a rumble when i turn the hub, but i think it's the Diff and not the bearings so much

I'm hoping they are ok and i don't have to do them, but i can't really tell....

Well I now payed attention and see you have a 4x4(little oversight). When turning the only thing I heard on my old fixed axle, and my new in the truck donor axle was a nice smooth feel, you will hear some noise but that is the bearings and diff moving.Unless it seems like say a noisy front whl brg (then it is bearing) as for diff unless it feels, rough or like a tooth is missing,Idk what to recommend. You could simply pull the diff yeah time consuming and visually check the gears.Unless it is the front pinion bearing which is just behind the big nut on the yoke going to diff.I am not fluent with 4x4 stuff, and assume it has locking hubs in rear.Maybe some others can chime in and add or correct me if need be.Keep in mind I have a 4x2.

not to worry
I decided to just do the brakes
I had a few friends come by and give me their opinion
everyone said not to worry, it sounded OK

Put the brakes back together and the sounds is gone ! yay !!

Now i do have another question though, but i'll post a new thread
