I'm having trouble understanding this post. If you mean that the engine has a leak at its rear, I'd make sure to check that it's not actually the base of the mechanical fuel pump that's leaking (rear of engine, passenger side).

Rear end typically refers to a differential, but there's no ""head" there.

or it's the tappet cover gasket and it's leaking down the head. post a picture up buddy

WTF? I can't understand either.
Hogs Head Bolts? I've been working on cars for 30 years and never heard of those.

The gentleman is referring to the rear end. People in the south call it a hog, and i will never know why.

To remove the diff you have to put the truck in the air, remove rear brake lines going to both sides, pull drain bolt on bottom, remove the 4 bolts on the back of the backing plate, slide them out, i would suggest putting new axle tube seals in, when i put the LSD in out of 84 rx7 i put new seals in and slid the axle in and out too many times and had to put a new seal in a month later, once you get the axles out, drop the drive shaft off the diff, and remove the bolts. it may be a pain to remove, but if you take a hammer and tap on the housing and spin the diff it will come right out, they do not make a gasket for it but ultra grey or black will seal it up just fine. i would suggest pulling it all the way out and cleaning the housing in the inside, clean the surface, apply a thin amount of silicone, you dont need much, just enough to cover the metal so you dont see the shiny metal anymore. slap it in fill it up,

recommended tool list would be INNER rear end seals, (there are an inner and outer but outer means pressing bearings off the shaft) 75w90 gear lube, i think its 2 quarts. brake fluid, silicone, and about an hours time. i do it for a living so i do it pretty quick, it may take longer if first time doing so.

cheers!

Here in the south we have our own dictionary!

example

"fixin" has 3 meanings. 1 a side dish at dinner. 2 actually fixing somethin and 3 about to do somethin. (ie fixin to get onto mazdabscene)
