whats up fellow mazda owners i just bought another mazda 1986 mazda b2000 my other mazda is a 1989 mazda b2200 now my question is whats the differences between the 2 a/c compressors the only option for the 86 b2000 is the 508 now on the other hand the 89 mazda b2200 shows 2 options 708 and th 508 depending on which one the truck has i guess what im asking is that can i put a 708 compressor on the 86 b2000 reason for it because i found a hella of a good deal on the 708 new well reman. PLEASE HELP i was looking at both of my trucks mounting is the same even the a/c lines so if anybody has any information on this would be greatly appreciated on why this would or would NOT work thanks

The 508 is a 5 piston comp. The 708 is a 7 piston if I remember right. I might be wrong but I think the 708 is like an inch longer.

id say if one compressor is bigger then the other you will need to modify how it bolts in the truck. not sure if they are interchangeable but you may also have to change the backing plate to the correct one for your truck, or adapt the hoses to the one your installing. also keep in mind the front of the compressor will need to align properly with the pulleys so that the belt drives it properly.
