I must be lucky my doors unlock automatically when I shut it, even when locked. I have to lock it with the key.

Do you pull up on the exterior door handle when closing the door "with it locked"?

nope. if i lock the door using the push down lock, it pops it back up when I shut it. I don't know if the previous owner set it like that or what I haven't tinkered with it. I thought of our trucks were that way but I guess not. I wish my Toyota was that way. When the truck gets back from the shop (electrical gremlin)I will take the door panel apart and take pics.

I thought all B owners knew how to lock their trucks.
After pushing the lock knob/button down, lift the exterior handle and close the door with the handle lifted.
Now you know how to lock your doors without a key!

I don't really ever lock the truck unless I go to the city anyway. love small towns

It pays to read threads.
The door lock popping up thing is somewhat nice, but very annoying on the passenger side.
Because for one reason or another, the lock barrel on that side only UNLOCKS

Yeah, my B200 does that unless one holds the handle up while closing, then it stays locked.

My Nissan Frontiers lock when you just shut the doors, when the flap is in the lock position (no knobs).
