So i have done everything to this motor this past year. I bought it with a blown head gasket so i decided to do a weber conversion, header, timing chain, complete emissions delete, re-manufactured cylinder head. I closed everything up and went to go for the first start and she fired up up like a champ! but instantly i see smoke coming from the header and coolant coming out of the tailpipe. My previous cylinder head was badly warped so i am worried the block is warped. has this happened to anybody ever on any vehicle?? my dad keeps saying a warped block is rare and blah blah. any input would help

these blocks are cast iron, while it is possible for them to warp, it is very rare that they actually do. Sometimes there will be remnants in the exhaust stream, coolant passages, etc that will cause a smoking condition for a while. Drive on it for a while, then get a block tester to see if compression gasses are still entering the coolant stream. Don't forget to retorque after 50 miles!

the exhaust system is all new from the head back. No resonator, no cat and new muffler plus tailpipe. the coolant in the block looks like there isnt any mixing going on. Can a machine shop test a cylinder head? i cant find any ibvious cracks but im sure they have some kind of method. its a reman so i would be pretty upset if its cracked

Titty - are you sure that what you see isn't coolant, but just plain water??? Water is a necessary part of the combustion process, to produce carbon dioxide and water. All vehicles spit out some water at first because the muffler/tailpipe is still cool, and the water vapor from the combustion process condenses in there for the first few minutes.
