I have a 90 automatic with a carburetor it has a bad trans. Will a auto trans from a fuel injected motor work?

86-93 auto trans should interchange with B2000/B2200. Not sure about B2600. All are hydraulic controlled, no ECU for transmission.

What about the extra wires on the fi trans that the mine dosrnt have?

what is the source vehicle? What is the donor vehicle?I was looking at my diagrams, I am showing that 88 and up should have the same transmission. The only three solenoids that I'm seeing on the side of the transmission are the kickdown solenoid, the neutral safety switch, and the overdrive cancel solenoid. The only difference that I see for any automatic transmissions for the B series Pickups are that for the 4 wheel drive, and they have a four-wheel-drive indicator connector.

I have a 90 se5 b2200 automatic carburetor motor. I found a trans from a 90 efi 2200 but it has more wires than mine to plug in. Mine has only one or two and this other trans has four.

hmm, I'm not seeing such in my wire diagrams. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the cruise control or not. I'll do a little more digging to see if I can figure anything out or not.

Thanks. I will try to get some pics. If I install it and plug in the wires that match up and disregard the others whats the ods it will work?

The critical connection is for the O/D defeat. You also have a reverse light switch that might be useful.
Nothing else, that I can think of, would be necessary for it to function properly.

Ok so my mechanic is telling me it will not work because it has 6 wires mine has 3 connections. And the 6 wire one is electronic controlled for shifting. Is he wrong, can we just change servos?

There are no electric shift servos. There is an overdrive solenoid, and a kickdown solenoid. Shifting is not controlled by servos like today's transmissions. It is a true hydraulic transmission with electric O/D lockout, and kickdown.
