On another site, Mazda Trucking, guys said they had their rear end seals and bearings replaced for $200- $300

IF - you are handy, you can easily pull the axles and then bring them in to have the bearings and seals replaced.

Here's a bit more information

Actually, if you can pull the axles - which is easy - then you can change the oil seals, which is the only ones you really need - if the oil is making it to the outer seal then the inner seals (which are the ones that really seal the oil) are bad.

i know my way around a car lol but i have never have done any work to a rear axle....the next few days i am going to fix it just didn't know what i was up against...

i have looked up parts, and the seals are what confused me, with the inner and outer seals for some reason..

but since now that i have sat down and done some research it doesn't look hard at all..

only reason i have suggested replacing rear axle is because i can buy them at the JY for $95 all day long and they have they 3

If you do this job take and post pictures, it would help other members here later.

If you know what you are doing it is super simple.

- Remove the Ebrake cables

- Remove the brake lines from the wheel cylinders

- Remove the 4 axle tube end bolts

- Pull the axles out

- Change the seals

Put everything back.

The inner seals are the ones that stop oil, the outer ones are simply to keep dust out of the bearings and will not stop oil from getting out if it gets past the inner seals.

Is there any chance the differential was overfilled?

If so, maybe the leak will stop if you let out the too much part of the fill.

If you are going to replace the chunk you are going to be pulling both axles, so plan on replacing seals on both sides, leaking and otherwise.

Sounds like a lot of work if you can just let out some fluid instead.
