Hello,
Have any of you replaced the compressor idler pulley? The bearing fried in mine, so i pulled it off. No luck finding one at Napa or AZ(should have known better). These stores only have the power steering pump pulley.

Thanks

I've got a 1988 B2200 but I have a Sanden AC compressor from a later year of B2200. Mine's a Sanden 708 model 7225 compressor, your 1991 B2600i likely uses a different model of the Sanden 708.

Anyway, just last fall I replaced my AC clutch completely (bearing was starting to go out, and I had a good used clutch saved from my old compressor. But I could've just replaced the bearing, mine takes a standard size, and maybe yours is the same, just measure it. The bearing for mine is available at various retailers, it's a pretty standard size, you'll likely need to measure yours.

My clutch bearing: Bore/i.d. = 35mm, outer diameter = 55mm, and 20mm deep

For me: part #M2021

Wondering: did you remove the AC clutch with the compressor lines intact so you didn't have to discharge refrigerant, like I did on my B2200? It was a little challenging, but worth it, as I'm still R-12, and saved the hassle of recovery, pulling vacuum, and replenishing refrigerant..

Thanks for the info. I probably will end up changing the bearing also. I did not pull the compressor, I only took off the idler pulley so i did not discharge the refrigerant.

Sorry: re-read your post. Does yours actually have a separate idler pulley with a bearing, or are you talking about the bearing inside the AC clutch pulley. Sorry, I may have misunderstood.

If it's a separate idler pulley, you may need to press/tap the bearing out and measure it, then see if there's a generic bearing. I already posted a link to ackits.com, who is big in auto AC, maybe give them a call. Or maybe contact Dan Atkins, a board sponsor, for factory part (if available) at .

I'm guessing that you won't need to "engineer" a one-off from a different vehicle's idler pulley. And -of course - there's always parts yards. Here in Arizona at least 80% of the B-trucks in the parts yards have AC.

my set up has two idler pulleys. one is used to tension the belt that drives the power steering pump. The other is used to tension a separate belt that drives the compressor. Both pulleys are different sizes. of course the one i need is not available at the local parts stores. I most likely will have to press out the bearing and replace it.
thanks for the input.

Don't I see this as Goodyear 49032 for $17?

The goodyear looks very similar. I will get my mic out tomorrow and get some accurate measurement.

thank you again for your help.

About 1.5 years ago I replaced both the PS idler pulley and the AC idler pulley on my '98 Frontier. Both were available locally at O'Reillys (Gates) for entire pulleys, that's most common way these days, but many still can have the bearings replaced.

BTW, with that '98 my daughter was driving that (160 miles away), called me and told me it it was making a terrible noise, so I told her to take it in to a shop. Of course, she didn't do that promptly, and the PS bearing froze and the belt burned/snapped, so the noise disappeared. A few months later the AC pulley started making noise, and I replaced that pulley, at least I didn't need a new belt there at that time.

Here- someone on Mazda Trucking posted a how-to and showed photos and even has a NAPA part number for the B2600i AC pulley bearing. Post #96 in the thread.
