My temperature gauge on the instrument cluster is not moving. I checked the spot under the thermo housing and see the bullet-type connector there, exposed. The problem is I can't find the loose connector or even a loose wire anywhere that might be the one.

Anyone know what color wire the temperature gauge is coming off the instrument panel? I'm thinking I can just splice into somewhere near the firewall and run a new wire to the sensor on the thermo housing.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Just spliced one back on last week, myself.

You should be looking for a yellow/white stripe wire. It should come out of the harness loom somewhere between the alternator and the bottom of the block. I used a bullet connecter for the connecter and it worked well. Not quite as snug as stock, but good enough.

Thanks for the help on this one. I got lucky and found the connector back behind the alternator.
