i am currently running 22" wheels on my mazda... i have a 302 v8 and tranny ready to drop in and do the 5.0 swap.... but i also like the idea of adding a weber and pacesetter header and keeping the factory 2.2
basically what i'm looking for is reliability and gas mileage.... i can get 24+ with the 2.2 not nearly as much with the v8 but it will sure turn the 22's where as i might kill the 2.2 if i keep it in there. so basically i'm asking for opinions.
the 2.2 gets better gas mileage than the v-8 but when you throw the 22's in to the equation it puts constant strain on the 2.2 making it suck just as much as the v-8 as long as you keep your foot out of it. its like on the s-10's, the v-6 5-speed trucks gets like 5 more miles to the gallon than the 4 banger.
