auto tranny

got a mazda with an auto tranny in it.
and my problem is when i want to start it.
i have to basicly slam the shiffter forward past park and hold it there.
then it ill turn over and start.
is there a rebuild bushing kit or somethin i can get to fix it?
or is it something else?

if its anything like the thing they use now its called a park saftey switch.... its a switch that either the shifter or the trans engages allowing the vehicle to start.... my work van has this same problem.... the part is like $25 for it....

ok also my shifter is sloppy. side to side.
i believe there is sapose to be some bushings in there but there isnt.
know where i can get them?

your local parts store sounds about like mine i went in for upper control bushings for my 2600 and they give me ones for a 2200 and said they were the same even when i took the old ones in after i returned the wrong ones
