interchange from b2200 to 2600i???

i need to know if these parts will interchange before i go and spend money......

from 88 2.2 liter carb'd
to 92 2.6 liter fi'd

dist cap?
rotor button?
coil? mine are different from 90b2200 to my 92 b2600i
plugs/wires (i assume they will interchange)

I think the only thing that will interchange that you have listed there is the wires. Im almost sure the plugs are different.

the 2600/2600i motors are totally different then the b2200 motor .


THE B2200 is carb'd and the b2600/2600i motor is fi - you'd have to swap the entire motor and computer over to get it to work - and i believe the wiring is different between the two as well.


if you want to do the 2600 motor swap then i suggest you look on ebay - i found a b2600i motor on there for 795$ plus shipping..

i have 3 mazdas total.
1) 88 2200 carb
1) 90 2200 carb
1) 92 2600i fi

i'm using parts off the 88 (minor parts that cab be swapped) onto the 92 to get it running. i realize they are different motors and different fuel systems. i was on advanceautoparts.com and it said the parts i listed would swap between the 2200 and the 2600i. the differences i have found visually are:
different coils
distributors are different but the caps look the same...
not sure about the rotor button but i think it is different as well.
