HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOTOR BLOWN

I HAVE A 90 B2200 AND FOUND OUT THE MOTOR IS NOW BLOWN. I HAVE TO BUT A NEW ONE IN AND I WANT TO GOTO A MOTOR WITH A LIL BIT MORE HP AND ALSO I WANT TO STAY CLEAR OF A CARB AS MUCH AS POSIABLE. I FOUND ALOT OF PPL USE THE 2.2 L CARB MOTOR AND CONVERT IT TO FUEL INJ. WHATS INVOLVED IN DOING THIS AND WHAT MOTORS ARE OK TO PUT IN THE MAZDA...... THANKS ALL

To convert to the 2.2 to fuel injected you just need to find the intake, throttle body, computer and wiring. Its a direct swap. As for other motors the 2.6 outta the b2600i will swap in easily. And with a little fabricating any other motor can be made to fit.

possibilties are endless for a engine swap. just depends on how much time and cash you want to spend. there are a lot of guys using the kia engine that is a direct bolt in but there is some other work that will have to be done depeding on what you want to do. do a search for fe3 here or check out mx6.com and go to the FE-DOHC forum there are a lot of articles on it and a lot of knowledgeable people there. there are a few guys on here that have done the swap as well. actually there is a guy with an fe3 a little farther down from this post

i was in your same shoes months back when i blew my engine. i had a choice of a badass 350 sbc with a 144 WEIAND that my cousin has just laying around, a 302 and a couple other engines. it all comes down to time and that lil guy in your head telling you all the reasons you should do it and you telling yourself all the reason you shouldnt do it. just this week i went and grabed another 2.2 block from the junkyard and started to rebuild my mazda 2200 again for one sole reason to save on gas. i too wanted to upgrade to a engine with more power but in the end the straight forward drop with no modding got me. so many options to choose from
