about once a week i check the oil the in the truck, and the air filter....

everytime i look i got tons of oil caked up in the breather filter. every once in a while i change it out, others i just clean it.

has anyone done away with it? just put on of the little breather filters on to vent the crankcase?? would that be better or what you guys think?

if you ditch it the oil that the filter catches will burn causing the truck to smoke more

no no no. i mean pull the hose that connects it and stick on of those clamp on breather filters on the little nipple piece on the valve cover.

sweet. i mean my buddy works at auto zone i sure i could get it cheap. or ill buy it then return it damaged so he can get it free and give it back to me. i mean i figure it will do the same thing the stock filter and hose do, cept keep my air cleaner from getting soooo much oil and shit on it. ill pick one up tomorrow at the a zone.

Ya, I do too, been a year or so and its pretty much black. I've even seen oil vapor come from it after driving on a summer day...

lol, the thing is, the PCV valve won't do much good, the filter does'nt restrict anything for the life of itself, until it clogs completely, lol.

I put one of those filters on and it works great... well I reckon it does anyway.

Just out of curiosity has anyone put a catch tank on their ute to collect all of the oily junk instead of venting it?
