cali emissions

ok so im gonna be moving to cali in like three weeks... now something im curious about what all should i double check and triple check to pass the inspections??? and if i fail would i still be able to register and drive around i have a texas inspection so yeah... i dunno any help is greatly appreciated..

i've heard ca inspection is pretty strict, but i've also heard new york and other states is even stricter, so you might be ok as long as your current on your Texas smog test. there's always a dude that'll pass you for a couple hundred dollars tho... i'd bet you wouldn't even get bothered with the texas plates for a good while. where u moving to?

u need to be sure your check engine light isn't on. if its on you fail. check your vacuum lines get a new cataletyc (spelling?) converter if you have doubts, i don't really know what else to tell you. it all depends on what the tailpipe sniffer reads. make sure your engine looks stock/good condition, nothing is worn or torn, or missing...

my boy Clint just moved back from there there is no way to make a texas truck pass cali. standards it will not happen just keep it texas tags and you will be fine thats what he did for 6 years no inspection or nothing cuz thay didnt know texas state laws

not knowing texas laws doesn't have anything to do with living in california. you are in CA you need CA plates. not saying they will ever know that you live there, and its likely you can get away with it for years with no problems. just don't attract attention and everything will be hunky dory. till you get the same cop that stops you a few times - and is smarter than the average bear(no pun intended) and realizes whats going on. then you'll have to make the switch.
