Its a fuel problem, i was just wondering if anyone could help me pin point the problem.

sometimes the truck starts and runs fine for a little but if i give it gas it dies, if i start it up let it run and give it a little gas from the carb its fine but if i give it too much it dies.

i recently put a new fuel filter on it, and i asked around. some people said it could be my carb or fuel pump which i think it could be that?

I assume ur truck is a Maz and it is carbed not fuel injected?Sounds like ur choke isnt working properly.Check the wire from the back of ur alternator to the electric choke and be sure it is hooked up,commections are tight. On a cool morning (if u can find one in FL)take top off air cleaner, turn switch on (dont start engine) and see if the choke butterfly valve closes.Use carb cleaner per instructions and clean inside the carb thoroughly then get some silicone spray and lube all the pivot points on the carb butterfly and linkage.BJ
