ok so long story short i run the old mazda hot and blow the head gasket well fine i get another head gasket kit and send the head to the machine shop when i get it back i put it all together and on startup the pin at the end of the cam burned off i freaked out and said fine i have two spare cams so i put the other in lube up the cam did it all by the book, burned it up as well so i figure i didnt adjust the valves right so i take the old rocker assembly and put it on thinking those valves were ok, burned up that cam took the head off cause i read that iff the block is shaved before its put straight the the towers will be out of line so the head comes off and back to the machine shop i get it back last night the cam spins fine manually so i put it all back on and it fires right up valves are alittle noisy but nothing big i cut the truck off in relief and crank it back up boom the cam burned up again what the hell? im thinking for some odd reason the oils not getting there to keep the cam lubed can anyone please help im close to throwing it out i dont have the money to keep sinking in this motor and this is the fourth time this week ive put this head on

yeh it definetely sounds like there is a blockage or something in the oil passages.

start it up with valve cover off see if oil is pumping up there and you will know if it is lol stand back

HA LOL THANX I JUST RAN AN AIR LINE AND THE LINES SEEM CLEAR DO YOU THINK IF THE VALVES WERE ADJUSTED WRONG IT COULD CAUSE THAT EVEN AFTER IT RAN FOR A FEW MINUTES?

u got the right head for the block u r running? The B2000's are for the most part solid lifter heads and the B2200's are for the most part hydraulic lifter heads. The oil galleys for the two heads are slightly different so if u r running a B2200 head with hydraulic lifters on a 2000 block and dont clearance the oil galleys and oil return passages u will cook the cam ,valves and lifters. Not enough oil getting up there. Also is ur oil pump working ok?Did u check and insure that the pump filter screen wasnt clogged up???BJ

ok well im sure the heads are the same they all say 2.0 plus ive never had any kind of prob like this until the head left the machine shop this all came from a busted radiator any way i was just thinking maybe the head gasket has that orange seal thats preventing the oil from coming up right. Im getting both the cams back tomorrow oh and it keeps snapping that stupid dowl pin off the front of the cam every time BUT when i looked today the cam was lubed up still and the rockers had no discolor to them so im assuming that its getting oil I hope that its just a valve prob but if they were that bad would the truck fire right up like it did last night? im getting so lost and pissed with this thing

make sure you get the right gasket for the block. 2.0's have an oil restrictor in the block, 2.2's have it in the head gasket. Just something to think about.

Check to make sure you have the right head gasket! Becuase I was told the two gaskets are not alike with the 2.0 and 2.2 liter!

I don't think I can help you any more then that, sorry man. Hope you get 'er fixed!
