My clutch engages pretty good. The only problem is that i practically have to push it thru the floor to get it in 1st gear. Once in gear the trans is smooth but i have to push really hard to shift smooth. Is this something major or can i adjust the pedal or something easy. Also my tripometer, odometer , and speedo dont work. Will a speedo cable fix all those. thanks in advance.

sounds like you have a broken speedo cable pull it off the trans and see if its broke by pulling on the cable itself if its shorter than the houseing and has no hex end on the opposite end then its broke

try bleeding your clutch sounds like you might have some air or you may need a new clutch disk

i was able to adjust the rod that attatches to the pedal and pushes in the clutch master cylinder. but mine is a 93 2600i so may be different.

Adjust your clutch pedel and see what that does for the enguagement issue. and it does sounds like your speedo cable is broken. Pull the guage cluster and pull the cable from it. Then drive the truck a little to see if the cable spins.

u can adjust the clutch as noted above. There is also a slave cylinder on the side of the tranny that may be bad.look and see if it is leaking.if so hard pedal is a common result .bj

a friend said it could be the syncros in the tranny not lining up because you got to wiggle it a bit to go in gear or shift, but you know how friends are.

Maybe, but same symptom is caused by clutch not fully engaged or disengaged=not adjusted properly.synchros dont "line up/not line up",per se. If they are worn, tranny usually makes whining noise and it is usually first/reverse gears that are the hardest to get into.I would still check slave cylinder for leak and be sure clutch is adjusted per above posts.bj

check the fluid in the master top it up if it needs it, and then have someone push the clutch while you look at the slave to see how much movement u have, you should have about and 1-1.5 inches of movement
you probably have a leaky slave or a worn out master,
i have this problem with my b2600 right now, i just keep putting in fluid, and pumping the clutch 10-15 times before i start it after ive topped it up, im too lazy to replace the slave
